If you plan to do so, please check with your insurance company ahead of time about their reimbursement policies for out-of-network providers. Areas of Expertise: |
I enjoy working with people on a variety of issues such as improving communication, anxiety/stress management, and other life challenges and transitions. I have a special interest in bereavement and other types of grief and loss issues (serious illness, miscarriage, separation/divorce, relationship endings, pet loss, etc.). I enjoy helping clients face challenges and build on strengths. Taking care of your emotional health can increase energy, enhance self-confidence, strengthen relationships, improve work performance, decrease stress, and restore a sense of balance to your life. I believe strongly in the ability of people to change their lives in positive ways.

Background Information: |
I am a Charlotte native. After completing my doctorate at the University of Maryland and my clinical internship at UNC-Chapel Hill Medical School in 1987, I remained in the Triangle area for three years as Senior Staff Psychologist at the Developmental Evaluation Center in Raleigh. From 1990 to 1996, I was employed at the Center for Mental Health (now Behavioral Health Center) of Carolinas Medical Center, where I worked with children, adolescents, and families. I have received specialty training in the grief and loss area. I have been in private practice since 1997, where I work with adults and older adolescents. |
